- He began his five-year residency in general surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX
- He also began his eleven-year service as an active duty surgeon in the United States Air Force

- Dr. Alexander became a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners

- Dr. Alexander completed his five-year residency in general surgery
- He began his three-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX

- Dr. Alexander completed his three-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX
- He began his three-year position as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital in Las Vegas, NV

- Dr. Alexander became board certified in plastic surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery
